About Tai Sui
In the entire 60-year cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar, there are 60 Tai Sui (60 years). One Tai Sui is responsible for one specific year of the 60 year cycle. Of all these 60 Tai Sui, the chief Tai Sui is in charge of all the others, his name is Yin Jiao (殷郊) – the son of the evil king Zhou of the Shang Dynasty, he has three heads and six arms. Because of his fierce face and intimidating appearance, he is often depicted as a small boy holding a banner.
What are the dangers of Tai Sui?
At the beginning of each new year, a powerful energy comes, so the year is not like a year. This energy brings with it changes in people’s lives. More favorable for some, less so for others. Every year there are 4 types of conflicts between Tai Sui 太歲 of the year and some of the signs of the Chinese zodiac. There are 60 Tai Sui in total. There will be one responsible Tai Sui for each new year. And each year there will be 4 Chinese zodiac signs that are in conflict with the Tai Sui of the new year. There are 60 secret Tai Sui Yin Form Talismans and 60 secret Tai Sui Yang Form Talismans, and another 60 Tai Sui specific name talismans. One of the 60 Yin or 60 Yang Tai Sui Secret Talismans, combined with one of the specific Tai Sui name talismans, creates the full Tai Sui Protective Talisman of the year. A Taoist master will create a talisman with the secret mantra Tai Sui.
